
BIOGRAPHY
Murray Lefebvre (Le-FAVE) (he/him) is a Conductor, Clarinetist, and Music Educator residing in the Kawarthas. He currently serves in multiple roles with different groups including:

Music Director of the Kawartha Lakes Concert Band.
Lead Conductor and Recruitment Coordinator of the Kawartha Youth Orchestra.
Assistant Conductor of the Music4Life String Orchestra.

Murray also works with the local school boards as an Occasional Teacher, and has done workshops and teaching for high school and elementary programs in the area. Most recently, Murray taught music at East Northumberland Secondary School in Brighton, showing students the joy of music. Murray also has the privilege of playing 1st Clarinet and serving on the Board of Directors with the Peterborough Concert Band.

Murray holds a Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Education from Queen's University, and a Master of Music in Instrumental Conducting from Memorial University of Newfoundland. Previous conducting engagements also include the Divertimento Orchestra (Ottawa), the Lakefield Singers, the Calos Youth Orchestra (St. John's, NL), the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra, and the Kingston Youth Orchestra. Murray thanks all those who have brought him in for a wonderful time and great music making.

​​Murray is always happy to come work with your group and support your program. His approach to music education is to ensure high quality learning and accessibility for all, and he prioritizes fun and kindheartedness in his leadership. In his free time, he enjoys walks, video games, baseball, bowling, and spending time with his dog, Mousse.
