The Kawartha Lakes Concert Band

The Kawartha Lakes Concert Band was founded by David Morrison in 2018 to bring more great music to the city of Kawartha Lakes. Since then, they have expanded their membership, increased their level of playing, and have added more and more repertoire to their music library. Players are diverse in experience level and have the opportunity to grow as people and musicians, while having a great place to meet others and experience the love of music making.

The KLCB plays 2-3 concerts a year, and highlights a wide variety of music from classical, pop, rock, jazz, film, and more

In 2024, Murray Lefebvre joined the band and then took over as music director, Highlights from the 2024-25 season include performing Carl Maria von Weber's Clarinet Concertino alongside clarinetist Kevin Weiss from the Huronia Symphony, and premiering "The Journey of A Hero" for the very first time, a piece composed by Newfoundland based composer and double bassist, Ethan Gough.
